Ootsutsuki Clan

The Ootsutsuki clan are native to the Lightning Country and claim to be the first of this area. After the founding of Kumogakure, they relocated to this village. Being one of the most powerful clans of Kumogakure, they were given a large hollowed-out mountain directly outside of the village to make their clan base, which is self-governed. Members of this clan are generally peaceful, but won't stand to be disrespected. They typically have black hair, and may even have a dojutsu, the Keizengan. If not, they invariably have green eyes.

Members of the Ootsutsuki clan have a 75 percent chance to be born with Dojutsu called the Keizengan. Those born with the Keizengan have eyes the are ringed (in order from the outside to the inside) red, yellow, a thick layer of green, light blue, then dark blue, with black irises. Being born with Keizengan allows them the ability to use Hikari, the art of harnessing light and creating a substance from it. The Keizengan is awakened during near death situations, and stays awakened for the rest of time. The Keizengan can implanted, but only Ootsutsuki chakra is 100% compatible, so it adds a chakra tax to those not of the Ootsutsuki clan, and since the Keizengan stays activated forever, this can be deadly. Users of Hakari usually specialise in a certain ability, and their personality is usually shaped by this.

Name: Hakari: Chomurasaki - Light: Superviolet

Using chakra wavelengths shorter than most human eyes can see, Chomurasaki is invisible except to those who wield Keizengan- and those only when they concentrate. Chomurasaki is used to traps and to mark targets on the battlefield for other Keizengan users. Chomurasaki is solid, but not as strong as blue or green, and is the subtlest. Chomaurasaki specialists tend to have a removed outlook. They appreciate irony and sarcasm and are sometimes cold.

Buruu is hard, strong, and smooth. Buruu is used for the creation of large structures ans armor or bladed weapons. The deepest blue is Violet. Buruu specialists are orderly, inquisitive, and unfailingly rational. Structure, rules, and hierarchy are important to blues.

Orenji is slick, lubricative, and heavy. It is used to create machines and traps. Orenji specialists are often artists, brilliant in understanding other people’s emotions and motivations. Some use this to defy or exceed expectations. Others become master manipulators.

Kiiro is most often a liquid that releases its energy back into light quickly, allowing its use as a torch or a trigger to ignite flammable materials or explosives. Like water turning to ice, when Kiiro is drafted perfectly, it loses its liquidity and becomes the hardest Hakari of all. Kiiro specialists tend to be clear thinkers, intellect and emotion in perfect balance.

Aka is sticky, gooey, and extremely flammable. Aka specialists often work with Sabuaka specialists, or with mundane tools to make bombs. Their skills are used to catastrophic effect in war. Akas are quick tempered, impulsive, lusty, and love destruction.

By dilating their eyes fully, all Keizengan users can see heat, allowing them to see (to an extent) in the dark, they can take the heat from their surroundings to survive intense heat and create flame crystals which turn into fire when exposed to air. This is one of the few abilities only available to Ootsutsuki members, and not just Keizengan users.
